Union Leader: UNH cow study makes most wasteful list
DURHAM – A University of New Hampshire project that studies greenhouse gas emissions from organic dairy farms, including cow flatulence, has landed on a list of wasteful federal spending.
Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Oklahoma, published a list Monday of 100 projects he considers to be wasteful government spending and the UNH study landed at 58.
Granted, $700,000 is mere pennies, compared to the trillions of dollars our government has already put on our Bank of China credit card, but think about those programs that didn’t get funded, thanks to this administration’s devotion to the special interest groups that put them in power.
Case in point: The DC School Voucher Program. President Obama put the financial interests of the teachers’ unions ahead of the education and safety of inner-city DC schoolchildren, who would otherwise have had the opportunity to attend the same type of school where Obama sends his own children.
But, $700,000 for studying cow farts? No problem. Here’s your check.
Is this the “hope” or the “change” we were promised?
